Cocker Spaniel with Mallards by Michael Simpson (Limited Edition)

This popular and versatile breed is perfect as either a family pet or to accompany a shoot. Its ability to flush game and also retrieve makes it an invaluable gundog. Maybe not as easy to train as say the Labrador, but has qualities of being fast, bold and tenacious. In this action sculpture, Michael Simpson shows the Cocker flushing the ducks. This Cocker Spaniel sculpture is made in solid foundry bronze using the ancient method of lost wax casting. The design finished by the art of patination where various acids are applied to the surface of the bronze and heat applied to create a deep rich brown patina.  Then bronze is then sealed with a special wax which further enhances the colour and protects the bronze for years to come.
